- You must be 18 or older, physically and mentally healthy, and meet the nationality rules of Ministry of Education document Jiao Wai Han [2020] No. 12. You need a senior high-school diploma or equivalent and a valid CSCA (China Scholastic Competency Assessment) score report that meets UESTC's requirements; register for the CSCA before the application deadline and take the subjects set for your major. Chinese-taught programmes require HSK 5 with 180 or above; English-taught programmes require TOEFL 80 or IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent). Applications are made at admission.uestc.edu.cn and go through a preliminary review and an academic review.
