- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a foreign passport and be under 50 years old (Date of Birth after August 31, 1973). For applicants seeking Chinese Government Scholarships, master’s degree applicants must be under 35 years old (Date of Birth after August 31, 1988), and doctoral degree applicants must be under 40 years old (Date of Birth after August 31, 1983).
- Applicants for a Master’s Degree must possess a degree equivalent to or above a Bachelor’s degree from a Chinese university. Applicants for a Doctoral Degree must possess a degree equivalent to or above a Master’s degree from a Chinese university.
- Language proficiency requirements for Chinese-taught programs are as follows:
- • For Chinese-taught Ph.D. programs:
- - School of International Chinese Language Education: A minimum of 240 points in HSK 6 and 65 points in HSKK Advanced level.
- - School of Chinese Language and Literature: A minimum of 210 points in HSK 5.
- - Other Departments: A minimum of 195 points in HSK 5.
