- 1.Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid ordinary-type passport and in good health both mentally and physically.
- 2.Language Proficiency
- Chinese-taught programs,HSK certificates within two years are required.
- HSK Exemptions
- The following types of applicants are exempt from taking the HSK:
- Native speaker of Chinese.
- Applicant whose previous degree is fully taught in Chinese should provide the original language statement and the statement must be on official headed paper.
- 3.Academic Requirement
- 3.1 Applicant need to hold a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent when applying for a Master's program.
- Graduates who did not receive their degree certificates at the time of application should provide pre-graduation certificates issued by their schools or colleges and personal commitment to prove their ability to graduate smoothly and obtain their degree certificates by the end of July 2026.
- 3.2 Accepted by a prospective professor at Shanghai University
- Choose supervisor online when choosing a major in the online application system and get accepted by a prospective professor.
- Please note that it is not required to choose supervisor for the programs of School of Economics, School of Management,MBA center and SILC Business School.
- The School will arrange soon after registration at Shanghai University.
- 3.3 Relevant undergraduate academic background is required,with GPA 2.5 or above(4-Point GPA System).
- 3.4 Students applying to programs of arts must have relative academic background and submit a portfolio. Please refer to detailed application requirements under the program introduction on application website.
- 3.5 Some colleges give priority to applicants with work experience,such as MBA Center..
