Comparative Literature and World Literature(Western Literature and Sino-Western Comparative Literature) is a PhD program offered at Beijing Normal University for international students.

- Applicants should be in good health and of good character, respect Chinese habits and customs, and abide by both Chinese laws and regulations as well as the university’s rules and regulations.
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a foreign passport and be under 50 years old (Date of Birth after August 31, 1973).

- - Master’s degree applicants should be under 35 years old (Date of Birth after August 31, 1988).
- - Doctoral degree applicants should be under 40 years old (Date of Birth after August 31, 1983).
- Applicants for a Master’s degree should possess a degree equivalent to or above a Bachelor’s degree from a Chinese university.
- - Applicants for a Doctoral degree should possess a degree equivalent to or above a Master’s degree from a Chinese university.
- Language proficiency requirements for Chinese-taught programs:
- - For Chinese-taught Ph.D. programs:
- - School of International Chinese Language Education: 240 points and above in HSK 6 and 65 points and above in HSKK Advanced level.
- - School of Chinese Language and Literature: 210 points and above in HSK 5.
- - Other Departments: 195 points and above in HSK 5.
