- Applicants must be physically and mentally healthy, friendly to China,have no criminal record, and be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid regular foreign passport.

- Language Proficiency Requirements
- Chinese-taught Programs
- Applicants must pass the HSK Level 5 examination (180 points or above). Applicants with the highest level of education taught in Chinese are exempt from providing an HSK certificate, but must provide proof of the language of instruction.
- Note: For applicants who want to apply for the major "Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages", the HSK Level 4 examination (210 points or above) can be presented for application.
- Applicants must meet the criteria specified in the Notice by the Ministry of Education of Regulating Admission of International Students to China's Higher Education Institutions(Letter No. 12 [2020] of the Ministry of Education).
- Note: The exit and entry administration authority of the Chinese public security organ will determine whether the applicant has Chinese nationality in addition to foreign nationality based on the results of the nationality determination. If it is determined that the applicant holds Chinese nationality after application, admission, or enrollment, the application, admission, or study qualification will be annulled.
