- Applicants must be physically and mentally healthy, friendly to China,have no criminal record, and be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid regular foreign passport.

- Language Proficiency Requirements
- English-taught Programs
- Applicants whose native language is English are exempt from providing English language proficiency certificates. Applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English language proficiency with the results of IELTS(6.0 or above), TOEFL (80 points or above,SDU's DI code: C296), MyBest Scores (80 points or above), Essentials test (8 points or above), orother equivalent English language proficiency certificates. Applicants whose native language is not English but have received their highest level of education taught in English are exempt from providing IELTS/TOEFL certificates and other proof of English proficiency, but must submit proof of the language of instruction.
- Applicants must meet the criteria specified in the Notice by the Ministry of Education of Regulating Admission of International Students to China's Higher Education Institutions(Letter No. 12 [2020] of the Ministry of Education).
- Note: The exit and entry administration authority of the Chinese public security organ will determine whether the applicant has Chinese nationality in addition to foreign nationality based on the results of the nationality determination. If it is determined that the applicant holds Chinese nationality after application, admission, or enrollment, the application, admission, or study qualification will be annulled.
