- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding an ordinary foreign passport and meeting the Ministry of Education's JWH [2020] No. 12 rules; physically and mentally healthy, of good conduct, friendly to China, with no criminal record and willing to obey Chinese law and university rules. Doctoral applicants must be no older than 40 and hold a master's degree (the age limit may be relaxed for applicants with work experience and research ability; final-year students submit a pre-graduation certificate and must obtain the degree before enrolment). Chinese-taught programmes require HSK 5 with 180 or above; for English-taught programmes English is assessed at the interview. After an initial document review, the school assesses grades, language level, personal statement and a video interview.
