Status
- Applicants must be citizens of a country other than the People's Republic of China.
- Applicants must hold a valid passport or citizenship certificate from their own country for more than four years (inclusive).
- Applicants must have a record of actual residence outside of China for more than two years within the recent four years (before April 30 of the year of admission). Note that actual residence outside of China for more than nine months in a year may be counted as one year, based on the dates of the entry and exit stamps on the passport.
- Applicants must be in good physical and mental health, have no record of bad behavior, and abide by China's laws.
Requirements for Bachelor's Degree Programme Applicants
- Applicants must generally be within the age range of 18 to 25.
- Applicants must have sufficient financial resources to support their studies and living expenses in China.
- Applicants must have graduated from a high school or equivalent institution and must be awarded a high school diploma or higher. Applicants must have chosen the science stream in their high school studies, which, in addition to Mathematics and English language, should comprise pure science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Admission Criteria for English-Medium Programmes
- Applicants should be graduating from high school in the current year of the intended university enrollment, with good academic and behavioral records at school.
- Under the same conditions, applicants to English-medium programmes with an HSK certificate will be given preferential consideration.
- For international students under the age of 18 whose parent(s) are not ordinarily residing in China, the parent(s) must formally appoint a foreigner or a Chinese citizen who is ordinarily residing in China as the guardian for the international student and provide supporting documents.
Requirements for China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA)
- According to the requirements of the higher authorities, starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, all international students applying for Bachelor's Degree Programmes are required to provide a valid CSCA transcript.
