- Applicants must be foreign citizens with no criminal record (former Chinese citizens are assessed under Ministry of Education rules), of good conduct and in good physical and mental health (students who fail the medical check after arrival are not registered), with good grades and good Chinese or English skills. A high-school diploma or above is required, and applicants should in principle be aged 18–22 (under 24 for the 'Zhuan Sheng Ben' top-up programme). Economics, management, science and engineering majors need a good mathematics foundation. Applicants who have taken the CSCA are given priority, ranked by score. The university may request more documents or an interview.
