Dalian Jiaotong University is a public university in Dalian, Liaoning province, in north-eastern China. It traces its origins to January 1956, when it was founded as a school serving the locomotive and rolling stock manufacturing industry, and it later became known as Dalian Railway Institute. The institute was administered by China's Ministry of Railways before responsibility passed to the Liaoning provincial government, and it took its current name of Dalian Jiaotong University in 2004.
