- 1. Non-Chinese citizens who are in good health and holding valid ordinary foreign passports.
- 2. Be an academically excellent holder of a master's degree or its equivalent when applying for a doctoral program. Preferably under the age of 40.
- 3. Not the current recipient of other scholarships established by various levels of the Chinese Government or the university of enrollment. (Excludes any one-time awards.)
- 4. To apply for majors taught in English,applicants must meet at least one of the English proficiency requirements: TOEFL score ≥80 / IELTS ≥6.0 / Native English speaker / English as the medium of instruction for master program / other valid evidence of equivalent English proficiency recognized by Soochow University. (Valid on and after June 15, 2026).
