The Chinese Language program is designed for international students who wish to immerse themselves in the Chinese language and culture. Through intensive language training and cultural studies, students will gain proficiency in Mandarin and a deeper understanding of Chinese society.
Programme principal
- Applicants must have graduated from high school and be 18 years old or above.
- Applicants must not have Chinese nationality as defined by the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China and must hold a valid ordinary passport.
- Additional regulations for applicants to bachelor's programs at BFSU, based on Letter No. 12 [2020] from the Ministry of Education:
- • Individuals whose parent(s) are Chinese nationals and have settled abroad, and who acquired foreign nationality at birth, shall not have Chinese nationality. These applicants must have held a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for at least 6 years and must have resided in a foreign country for the past 6 years as of April 30, 2021. A minimum of 9 months in a year will be counted as one year, and the duration of stay will be calculated based on border entry and exit stamps.
- • Applicants who were residents in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan before immigrating to a foreign country are also subject to the above regulations.
- Applicants must be physically and mentally healthy and meet the physical examination requirements for a Chinese Visa and Residence Permit, as well as the physical examination requirements for BFSU programs, to ensure their ability to study and live in China.
- Applicants must have no record of disciplinary violations, public security punishments, or criminal conduct. They must demonstrate friendliness towards China, adhere to Chinese laws and university regulations, and respect Chinese customs.
- Applicants must possess a high school certificate with a good academic record.
- Applicants must achieve HSK Level 4 with a score of over 180.
