Wenzhou Medical University is a provincial key university in Zhejiang province whose lineage runs back to the Zhejiang Specialized Medical School founded in 1912. The institution moved to Wenzhou in 1958 as Zhejiang Second Medical College, was renamed Wenzhou Medical College, and gained full university status under its present name in 2013.
